Obituary for Lawrence D. McLaughlin

Lawrence D. McLaughlin
Bolton-Lawrence D. McLaughlin, 62, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.  He is survived by his cherished wife of 36 years, Mary Ellen (Cain) McLaughlin; sons: Michael, Matthew, and Peter McLaughlin, all of Bolton; daughters and their husbands: Ruth Rainey & Ben of Gulfport, MS; Esther Wiebe & Joel of Ayer; granddaughter Katherine Rainey, and grandbaby Wiebe on the way.  He leaves his siblings and their spouses: Patricia Payette & Michael of Dracut, MA; Annmarie McCully & Richard of Sandown, NH; Thomas McLaughlin & Kris of Canterbury, NH; Maureen McLaughlin of Hampton Falls, NH; Barbara Watts & Robert of Londonderry, NH; Nancy Kazmer & David of Georgetown, MA; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Larry was born in Lowell, son of the late David L. & M. Lorraine (Pearsall) McLaughlin.  He graduated from the Lowell High School, Class of 1975, and achieved Bachelors Degrees in both Business Management and Electrical Engineering from the University of Lowell.  Larry worked at Raytheon as an electrical engineer for thirty-two years, before retiring.  A humble man of great faith, Larry was a dedicated husband and father, and a faithful member of the Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston. He also enjoyed listening to Christian conferences, podcasts, and Bible-based sermons. Generous to lend a hand, he was an honest and faithful friend. Larry immersed himself in his current interests, always curious and learning new things, most recently his ketogenic diet. Active and athletic, he enjoyed playing basketball, racquetball, and family frisbee golf. In his younger days, his varied pursuits included gymnastics, pole vaulting, springboard and scuba diving, skiing, and unicycle riding. Larry loved to share a good story, especially from his childhood. He was also amusingly notorious for over engineering home and just-for-fun projects, like zip lines, potato cannons, and bottle rockets, just to name a few. A Memorial Service and celebration of life will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Bethlehem Bible Church, 307 Lancaster St., West Boylston. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
Larry's Memorial Service will be live streamed by Bethlehem Bible Church and is available for remote attendance by clicking on the WEBCASTING tab on the menu bar to the left.
